Finally! A chance to sit down and go over the process for the Christmas Card Project. First, it was made as a thank you to all the people who have helped me this past year, 2019 was a rough ride from start to finish and it’s thanks to these people that I am in a better space in 2020. Since learning 3D, I’ve had ideas for these “mini environment” mock ups and an interest in props. I also wanted to explore a little about 3D composition and making sure something “looked good” from all angles. My workflow typically starts with a mood-board or thumbnails. With this project, there was already the energy to make props with a holiday theme so it started with a mood-board and some reference images and then moved into thumbnails. With the holidays just around the corner there was a pretty solid hard deadline to meet. With the mood board in mind I packed up my sketchbook went to a local coffee shop and began sketching away ideas. Eventually, the idea for a snow globe with a card inside manifested
